Hikarijin - A race of angelic like beings, They age 1 year for every 100 human years. They can create wings and have powers beyond a humans. But they are not necessarily good.
Yamijin - A race of Demonic like beings, they are much like hikari's except they are made from dark energy. But they are not necessarily evil.
Kage - A human that uses a powerful black magic. They absorb souls and spirits to gain power and to slow down the aging process. If strong enough it is possible to take the power of a Yami or a Hikari thus killing them.
Phantom management league - aka the P.M.L. or the council. They give the orders and cases in order to keep the proper balance of spirits in the human world.
Eisei - The other realm were the Hikarijin and Yamijin live

Doesn't mind protecting Tenshi, is often concerned about her well being.
Hates Shiryou because he tends to put her in danger, mostly due to the
fact Shiryou doesn't listen to her advice. Somewhat of a flirt, loud and
short tempered. He was assigned by the council to guard Tenshi; he doesn't
socialize with humans if he can avoid it. Not much is known about him.
His real name is unknown to any of the group, we assume his Nephew Roe
knows it. He is a yamijin and has bendable power restrictions.

Hikarijin
One of Tenshi's best friends, Celli is good natured and a strong believer in "tough love". She often reminds Tenshi of things she feels she should be doing. She also is Tenshi's "confidante" and knows more about the girl than anyone

Race: Yamijin
The some what embittered young captain; he was promoted at what is considered young in the guardian experience category. His office is located in the central Guardian office, in Eisei (aka the other realm) One of the few joys he receives from his thankless job is watching Akuma suffer. They seem to have an ongoing rivalry/grudge that had be gone before they were assigned to the bodyguard division. While he may be stressed, begrudging, spiteful and all around unpleasant at times he can be a nice guy. He boosts an almost spotless record, leaving some confusion to why he was assigned to one of the least desirable positions on the force. It can also be noted he does not like Shiryou due to the fact the exorcist has given any bodyguard assigned to him problems.

The second youngest of the Hane offspring, he looks much younger then his age. Some say he looks and acts younger then his sister, in spite of being 400 years older. He is very perky and energetic. Has a tendency to be quite blunt and honest. Never afraid to speak his mind for better or worse. He is also openly gay, and not afraid to flaunt it. He loves his sister Tenshi dearly, and is fiercely protective and loyal.

The 3rd Hane “child”, the middle brother. He can be a bit intimidating with his cold expressions and impressive build. He’s really good natured, loves his family. But not someone you want as your enemy . He’s very calm compared to his younger brother, whom he tries to keep in line. In his eyes Tenshi can do no wrong.

Usually very polite, assigned to Shiryou. He dosent take this teaching job very happily, and tends to be overly mean to his student. She tries to get along with everyone and keep out of trouble. Was delighted to get to learn from her idol, even if he is anti-social. Like Shiryou she comes from a family of ghost hunters, and is very proud to continue tradition.

He is the son of Akuma's older half sister, thus making him Akuma's nephew. Roe has always looked up to Akuma, who looked after him when they were kids. Roe is by nature very naive and sweet; he has really no fighting skills to speak of. Akuma has always treated Roe like a little brother, since they were only about 3 human years apart. He just started working for the P.M.L. and has been assigned to the human realm as well. But since he is a Yamijin he doesn't require a bodyguard.

An old and "very close" friend of Akuma's, she's laid back
and independent. They like to go drinking together. She took a bit of
a shine to Shiryou who doesn't seem interested in her "friendly"
offers. I suppose she could be considered somewhat of a slut. That aside
she is trustworthy, honorable and a good friend

Works with Tenshi, cool & unfriendly. He is top exorcist for the council, which is unusual for his age. Comes from a long line of ghost hunters, his advanced skills are partly because of heretical powers. He doesn't like receiving extra attention, even when attacked he usually won’t retaliate. Hates Akuma, and enjoys making him look bad.

Director of the “Detection sector” which is a branch of the P.M.L., he is Tenshi and Roe’s commanding officer. They report to him, and he reports to the P.M.L. council. He has an assistant named “Yuuki”. He has a noticeable scar running across his left eye, which is useless. He’s a very nice some what grandfatherly man, and a gentleman.

At times it’s unclear whether she likes her job or not. Cheerful & soft-spoken, she is a full-fledged Hikarijin. Due to the contract she has with the council, while in the human realm she is under no means allowed to use her full powers. Hikarijin energy is much easier to sense, and can alter human behavior. So a binding spell has been placed on her, making her very weak to any spiritual or magical attacks. Which is why Akuma is guarding her. She comes from a very over protective family, and is the only girl out of her 3 other siblings. She is also the youngest, and while she loves her family she doesn't seem to enjoy being at home.
